Dining in Grayslake

Exhibit tour of Food, Family and Tradition:  Dining in Grayslake. This new exhibit explores the history of the community’s restaurants and the families who made them go.  Charlotte Renehan will add interesting details.

Charlotte Renehan’s family has been in Lake County since 1880.  Her former husband’s family arrived to Avon Township during the 1830’s.  Renehan is a local historian, charter member and president of the Grayslake Historical Society, author of Grayslake and Avon Township (Arcadia, 2007) and a director of the Illinois State Historical Society.
