Cardamon Crisps
Spicy Chicago Couple to Give Well-Seasoned Talk, July 27, 2019

Yield: 5 dozen cookies
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2 large eggs
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon salt
Additional sugar and grated coconut for garnish
Preheat oven to 375⁰F
Blend sugar with butter. Beat in eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder, cardamom and salt. Gradually stir into butter mixture.
Drop 1/2 rounded teaspoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten to 1/4 inch thickness using a glass covered with damp cloth. Sprinkle tops with sugar and coconut.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes until cookies are lightly brown around the edges. Cool on pans for 30 seconds, the move to wire rack.
