Travelling Tour by American Museum of Natural History
Learning tour to Milwaukee Public Museum to view a special traveling exhibit, one that explores the complex food system that brings what we eat from farm to fork. In sections devoted to growing, transporting, cooking, eating, tasting, and celebrating, the Global Kitchen exhibition illuminates the myriad ways that food is produced and moved throughout the world. It examines the intersection of food, nature, culture, health, and history—and considers some of the most challenging food issues of our time. Included inside the exhibit is a demonstration kitchen which offers cooking demonstrations and samples of local delicacies. The demo kitchen’s theme on June 1 is springtime fruits and vegetables of Wisconsin.
Members of the Culinary History Enthusiasts of Wisconsin, Culinary Historians of Chicago and the Greater Midwestern Foodways Alliance are also visiting the Global Kitchen exhibition on June 1. Here’s a chance to get to know fellow food history enthusiasts from around our region!
